Survey of Bhujung Micro-hydropower Project
The Bhujung micro-hydropower site was first identified in the Spring of 1993
as part of a survey of community-based projects conducted in the districts
of Kaski, Lamjung and Manang within the Annapurna Conservation Area
Project (ACAP).
I had coordinated the surveys carried out by a joint team
from ITDG and ACAP upon request of my dear friend the late Dr. Chandra
Gurung of the KMTNC. Over a dozen different feasible micro-hydropower
projects, including Bhujung, were identified on this study trip, starting
from Yangjakot in Kaski and going up to Khangsar in Manang.
